I just received a very gracious but still “no go” response on using 1984 for our next Mortal Fools gig.

There was no compelling reason offered beyond an oblique reference to other projects in development with the Orwell Estate. Perhaps they’re negotiating with a better-known band?

Anyway, I’m disappointed but not overly surprised. And there are many more great works of literature that deserve to be repurposed and revitalized for new audiences.
